I enjoyed your post. I never thought my foray into KWE could be classified as an 'investment'! As far as your comments on the Internet bubble is concerned, the conventional wisdom from gray beards like me is that you are probably right. But let's take the point of view of the old O&G punters. They saw themselves crucified when crude collapsed - and so quickly too. Can you blame them for saying - well, hell, let's ride another bubble?

From my point of view, sure there is a huge bubble out there. But there was one in the old days, too, when the rails and the transportation frenzy took place in the 1890's. Rails still grew by approximately 1900% over a period of about 30 years and it fuelled the US industrial revolution. If people are trying to sniff for the next, we cannot be too scornful of what they are trying to do.
