Here's a story about time clocks and Simplex, an Identicator partner, is mentioned several times. A quote -

"Simplex also is developing lines that incorporate features from the company's security products, including use of biometric devices that identify employees by fingerprint or palm-print."

Howver, the very next sentence says this -

"Biometrics are under review at Kronos, too, but the firm does not see much demand."

steve,

Now that the products are out of development, and sales will be ramping up.....I think it is a great time to re-visit a restructuring to unleash the beast!

I hope the next administration will give it a look....as it would be exceptional for unlocking shareholder value.

Live scan and Anadac could easily stand on their own as a profitable 15% grower. About what? $60 million in sales?

The Bio-ID division....(Identix Internet Solutions) could be spun out as a share distribution to IDX shareholders....and an IPO.......and it would be a hot one...IMO.

Ascom could participate in the IPO if they wished......but I bet they wouldn't.

Far fetched?......Not at all. Take a look at what Brooktrout Technology did with their little "Interspeed" division.

Whoever takes over for Randy needs to visit Brooktrout.....Same size....same situation......cool deal.

Unleashing the rapid growth division of IDX will bring many benefits to shareholders. I think it will be done. The younger bucks moving up at IDX will push for it......and get it done.

I think that is why I jumped today.......I think the next CEO will be kinda like the CEO at Brooktrout Technology.

bg

ps. Remember to stock up on emergency Y2K cigars. Most people will not remember to do this....which is why Commission members are buying lots of firearms. Who knows what the cigarless public might do.

Re: Silva . . .

I couldn't use your link, but I did run across them a couple of days ago from looking at a user group. The head of the company recommended IDX to someone looking for a biometric solution. They are a small outfit located near Seattle. I think they have one guy outposted in Wisconsin, as well (or maybe the name is just a coincidence). Looks to be a minor reseller.
