WCBS 12/22/99 - 11:17:01 PM .....in the right technology stocks all year and haven't sold anything, but the question i'm being asked lately is, "is it too late to jump on the technology band wagon?" The answer is no. But you've got to have the right stocks. For the past two weeks, i'm emphasized the old-fashioned blue-chip technology stocks like microsoft, intel and dell, and tonight i would like to add two more. Compaq computer, 27 3/8 down 1/8 today. I think this is a promising turn-around story. The stock is down from 51 earlier this year and is nearing the completion of a major restructuring. The balance sheet, while solid, should continue to improve and expect new products in the early part of next year. The kicker, here, is the fact that they own 18% of alta vista -- an internet search engine company like yahoo which plans to go public soon. That could add $5 in value to the stock right away. Next is cybersource. It closed at 44 7/8, down 5 1/4 today, and that's down from its high of 71 only 5 weeks ago. This company is the premier outsourcing solution for online merchants. They do payment processing and fraud detection. They are partners with visa. 2% Of all visa's transactions are done on the internet but 50% of their disputed charges are on the internet. That's a tremendous opportunity for cybersource. These two stocks could be two of the big winners for the year 2000. I'm brian finnerty, and that's the word on the street. >>>Dana>> astronauts from the space shuttle discovery made a repair call to the hubble space telescope. .....
