I'd rather see Ciena go it alone... I agree with you. Nettles says they will grow 50%. LU is starting to have problems growing at 20%. Nortel is too big to grow at 50%. CIEN can show a much better top line growth than these guys including CSCO. I will bet CSCO customers will buy CIEN DWDM with CSCO gigarouters because that is what they are trialing and CIEN has the track record. CSCO probably did CIEN a favor. Now CIEN will work more closely with vendors like Juniper and not favor CSCO routing gear. Some of the router startups have better product for service carrier backbone applications - where DWDM is really needed. Watch the new working relationships.
