ViaNGIO speaks in the Yahoo thread-

jiro.com

- a nice real world example of Ancor's
interoperability/partnership with
Hitachi, Exabyte, Legato, Fujitsu,
StorageTek, Veritas and of course Sun.

To the poster who asked about EMC
announcing a Brocade deal before Ancor
I offer this - Ancor supports the
FibreAlliance MIB. Brocade doesn't get
a mention at fibrealliance.com
and has no mention of FCA MIB support in
their switch specs.

This to posters speculating about HP. HP
already announced whose switches they
work with - via the Tachyon certification
program. No big splash single source
OEM announcement. Like I've been saying -
those days are past. Check out

semiconductor.agilent.com

Vixel has no switch and their hubs are
hopeless. Perhaps this explains the recent
stock price decline. SANs are getting big -
hubs don't work. Investors are smart.

Gadzoox has decent hubs but their switch
isn't really a switch and fabric software is
kind of tricky when you get down to it.

Some switch vendors claim exclusive OEMs
with Compaq etc. But which part of Compaq ?
The ex Digital StorageWorks group or Compaq
proper. Is Compaq working with other SAN
switching equipment. I suspect so - it makes
sense if you want to attach Compaq Intel
NT servers to a Sun, MTIC, HDS/HP, Fujitsu
SAN....

Happy Christmas :-)

thanks viangio! maybe presents will be plentiful and compaqt in the coming months? i'm not fujin with you. let's see again, STILL only TWO 'real' FC switching companies in an EXPLOSIVE industry (keep in mind we still ain't seen nada yet, imo) and ONE going to lose significant market share in the coming year. interesting. hmmm. and on a separate note, who is competition to Ancor in 64 port and higher switches (directors)?? i mean, aren't these directors half of the switch revenue market in the years ahead?
;-)) I often do the math here, but than I get all giddy. Maybe someone else can?

Things that make you go...mmmmm. ;-)

Happy Holidays to Ancor's great employees and all those here! To those Hedge Fund guys, the A_R's, the Herb Greenbergs, the Ed Shultzs, to the old ill-complacents at good old days at The Motley Fool like the Terers, the SantaKlaus's, the silicon valley kings, the Watchin Brocades, the A gnats, the NYTrader Lous...may you someday see the light. It is bright and it is just beginning.

cheers and
bede bede bum,
pigboy

Alan, anyone:

Does anyone know whether they ever did a distribution of the settlement fund from that suit?

Thanks,

Bob
