<< Glad to hear that your friends were satisfied with their disc surgery. >>

Both of my fishing buds had it. Mike had 9 surgeries over the years starting when he was 18. Just kept blowing one after another. He was born with a weak back and has finally figured out not to lift anything over 10 pounds or fall down. Before the last one he was in agony and he couldn't use his right leg. He feels fine now.

His brother blew 6 discs at one time when he was hit with a concrete block on the job. One surgery did the trick for him.

Neither brother had much problem with recovery. They each had to wear a corset for a couple of months but neither missed more than 4 days of going to the coffee shop.

Partial Laminectomy of the L-4/L-5 disk was the smartest thing I ever did. Lived with lower back pain for nearly 10 years until I had that operation. Haven't had an injury or pain since. I thought living with lower back pain was simply normal for some people. Boy, was I ever wrong!

Never did thank that doctor...Thanks for reminding me.

Michael
