The Chinese love risk. They love to gamble even at ridiculous odds. They love rigged stockmarkets. They bear second children despite the fact that society will probably punish them. Lovely people!

Do you recall Confucius story of meeting a woman crying by the road in the hills:

C: Woman, why are you crying so disconsolately?
W: My husband was killed by a Tiger.

C: Have you no father to return to?
W: No, he was killed by an avalanche.

C: Have you no brothers?
W. No, they were killed by an earth quake and a volcano.

C: Why do you live in such a risky place?
W: Here in these hills there are no corrupt public officials (party members).
