Here's a new thought. What if this run-up prior to Y2K is like "buying the rumor" (the rumor being, Y2K is actually a non-issue) and if/when Y2K turns out to be a non-issue traders will "sell on the news". What if something DOES happen on 1/1/2000????? This would surely intensify that selling. I have talked with several traders that are going cash either today or next Wednesday
