The news in Germany is that a certain tax on companies selling stakes in other companies is going to be canceled. Banks and financials are soaring, with Allianz (big insurer, holding big stakes in industrial corporations) leading the pack rising 47 to 342 Euro, and adding 77 points to the DAX.

The rally in Germany had to do with repealing the taxes on sales of assets of banks I think.

Go figure, may be they need a 3% month to month inflation to slow it down.
