LOL....on an email exchange w/several friends...we discussed that horses weren't athletes and therefore shouldn't qualify. Of course, when that issue was raised, another person said golfers weren't athletes, either (he doesn't golf), and shouldn't qualify. All kinds of opinions exist on this topic. Suffice to say, horseracing is a sport, and while Jockeys are as important as the horse SOMETIMES, I would say Secretariat and Citation were very well trained animal athletes. Still, lists like this are silly and account for nothing.
