i don't know what he thinks people should do...listen to him ? even if he's right, there ARE other investments, and other gold investments...

abx is not a no risk investment, there is no such THING...

fwiw, i prefer franco nevada...but that's just me...

of course, dd will respond, as i dared mention another stock on the holy barick thread...

the shame of it...

Of course comparing a gold producer to an oil producer is a red herring. Ken is one of a group who would have Barrick, and others, eliminate their hedge books entirely, but, not only that Benes wants them to club together, cut production, in other words form a cartel. Why? Well the answer is obvious - he wants to manipulate the POG UP - ah that dirty word doesn't sound so dirty if the POG is going up does it? But as someone pointed out the major producers don't produce enough of total world production to form an effective cartel - and by promoting gold over the fiat they would be inviting real (not imagined) intervention. Its a tightrope.

Oil production is controlled (not always effectively) by a group of nations outside the industrialised block.
