That's a good point about the Gemstar-Globalstar confusion.

I'll cast my vote for G* for Gemstar, as, in my investing life anyway, it'll probably loom larger than Globalstar.

I've seen G* used for GlobalStar over on the G&K thread. It wouldn't be confusing here but could cause confusion elsewhere. Of course we could institute a hostile takeover of the symbol from the GlobalStar people.

Downsouth-as a long time holder of Gstrf, G* means Globalstar to me..how about Gem.

G$ gets my vote. The $ obviously means money, but it also can represent the S in Star.
