Mohan- You're post needs a response, since I feel it was ignorant as well as incorrect. "Real investors"? What does that mean? There are many, many knowledgable posters here, as well as many TA guys, that do provide valueable insight into the short and long term well-being of this company. You state that you used to be a big bull on QCOM back in 1997. Are you still a big bull? I would suggest to you in 1997 the jury was still out as the the success of QCOM. In 1999, starting with Ercy, it became apparrent that they will likely dominate wireless. Hence, many smart, real investors have invested in this fine company. Mo MO players? If that means waiting for the right time to buy a young gorilla, and then holding it for the long-haul, then I guess I'm a momo player.
You can find Ramsey Su on the other thread. Mohan, no need to reply.

Mo mo man...

Good GOD! Must we suffer this kind of narrow mindedness? Look dude, people like you can go on and on about "real investors"...whatever they are.
As has been pointed out a thousand times on this thread, the REAL investors did their DD and THEN watched UNTIL Q made its move. Then they jumped. Call 'em what you want...but they made the right moves all the way around.

DUDE, Q was a lousy investment for YEARS and just sat there.

Yeah, I'd call real investors REAL SMART who let their money sit and do nothing while the market was making new highs year after year.

Get a life.

I know Ramsey Su. And you're no Ramsey Su.

Mohan,

I have been called just about anything here but never a "real investor". Since the market is closed for a few days, I think I will take the time to give you an explanation.

Many moons ago, when SI was in its infancy, I ran across the famous Mouth of the South, (now known as Maurice) on one of these forums. We both thought QC got some potential and debated to death the issues with names like Ira, Frezza, Tero, Daniel B and a few that I forgot.

Finally we concluded QC is a good thing. Since Maurice and I are both retired, we cannot take too much risk. So we each bought 10 shares.

Well, QC went up and it went down. Each time a hurdle is cleared, a newer and bigger one appeared. When it got hit one time, it traded into the low 30s (pre-2-1 split). We decided we must not miss the opportunity. So we backed up the truck and each bought ten more shares.

When everything finally looked like it was going well, some guy whose first name coincides with my father's brother came along. He called QC a gorilla, or was it a king. Since both are on the edge of extinction, we figure that must be bad and held off in buying more.

Well QC went up and another guru appeared. Since hotaire always rises, we assume that must be good and decide to follow his kind leadership. First, we were told we need to manipulate the houses. So we rearranged all our furniture but nothing really happened. Then we were to sell all the QC stocks and leap. Not sure what it was supposed to do but we did leap. Fortunately, I only leaped out my first floor window and didn't get hurt too bad. We finally figured hotaire is just that, hot air. Oh, it was also supposed to help me sleep well but it didn't do that neither.

In the mean time, some guy keeps reminding us what it takes to be a quillionaire. That number is so huge that Maurice and I simply cannot relate to it.

The biggest disappointment came last week, when the TA guru finally announced that he made the ranks of a quillionaire. Maurice called me and we shared a glass of sherry to drown our sorrow. We figured if it takes so long for the TA guru to make a quillion, there is almost no chance that we will ever get there.

In our private discussions, what we missed the most are all the women. In the old days, I can only remember a couple of women on the thread and that is including one who everyone thought is a man but I know better. Maurice said if we had known that there are actually QC groupies, we would have tried a little harder to understand the company. May be we should look up what CDMA stood for?

Now if you think the above made Maurice and I "real investors", I guess thats what we are. All I can tell you is Maurice and I are still sitting here with our 20 original shares which will soon become 160 shares, wondering when the day will arrive for us to buy our mother a brand new 7series BMW for Christmas, as one of you quillionaire is doing, probably right this moment.

Seasons greetings to all.

Chicken little Ramsey
