Your note to me starts off with a failing to understand what I have said. RE>>Brian, your statement to Dan was incorrect. If a consensus were to be taken on this and the board called "Jesus" your ideology would be shown to be far in the minority.>> My statement to Dan and now as well to you is... RE>> >>You are not right by consensus Dan.<< << What caused me to write that to Dan , and I expect you to check, was that Dan asked me to rally others to verify agreement with my insisting that the TEN COMMANDMENTS are still the rule for moral practice for Christians saved by Grace and that it is exceedingly sinful for anyone who names the name of Christ to suggest that Jesus did away with His own moral Law even the 4th commandment. There are not just 9 Commandments but all TEN. < It was Dan who asked me to prove myself by getting others to agree ... A VOTE or Consensus. This is in itself a very blatant example of how poorly some of you try to understand the truths I put forth. If Noah was challenged to "count how many " other than His own family agreed with him he would have come up with none. That is irrefutable proof that it is possible to be the only one who is in agreement with God`s truth. Truth is not determined by majorities.. It is determined by the Word if God alone. Dan ignored that fact and wrote back that he had Truedog and Colleen " on his side" That is sad. In spite of the fact that I tried to dissuade him from such foolish calling to division he went ahead with it anyway. Would what I say suddenly be more true if I got a thousand friends to join SI to agree with me ? Look at what else I said in the same note: RE>> >> Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. The majority has been wrong for a long time ....about the Ten Commandments << << That statement by itself should have explained more fully what my opening remark meant and means. Men are called to verify truth by the Word of God not by polling the "church" or some Stock chat line. Dan is using his friendships to refute me in a very wicked way. He does not disprove what I have said but he has dragged Colleen into his Sabbath breaking stance against the Ten Commandments. Is he willing to call others to join him in his sin just so he can pretend he is right? Then I get accused of being the "unloving one" How does that compute. I did not rally any troops to answer Dan's challenge because the challenge itself is sinful and a denial of how truth is known. It would be to place the opinion of man ahead of the very clear and plain teachings of Jesus and the Word of God. I love "Jesus and His Elect" far too much to stoop that low just to defend my reputation or simply "win" an argument with Dan or any man. What can I lose... What I told Dan and all who read this post is true. If no man agrees I am still true to Christ. Jesus plainly said not one jot would pass from the law while heaven and earth stood. Those who teach men to break the least of His Holy Commands will be called least in the Kingdom of God. Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The 4th Commandment is far from the least of His commands. It is a very grave offense for anyone who has claimed to be saved by God's Grace to Spurn His Laws in any manner never mind trying to "out vote" the voice of Jesus and His plain teachings. I also quoted this verse: RE>> >> Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. << << You have quoted many verses that describe those who are the saved. I posted a note to Colleen pointing out that there are four types ( as I have broken them down ) of people who will appear in the day of judgement. Some who profess Christ as saviour who are not saved and are cast into hell. Some who Call Jesus Lord and are baptized and yet perish though they did many wonderous works in Christs name. James also points out in his epistle that not all men who believe or have "faith" ( mere positive thinking ) are actually saved. The verses you quote must be viewed within the scope of "ALL" that God has written on the subject of Salvation by Grace. You cannot just isolate verses that fit your system and ignore the rest. My quarrel with Dan is about the Lord's Day and his stand against it. His defense to me is that it is too hard to keep and that I am a legalist. Many have decided to accuse me of being hateful and wrathful and try to write off what I witness that way. I am sure that after Jesus overturned the money tables many justified themselves in the same manner and cast doubt on His words by accusing His socially unpleasant manners. You do not have to deal with me or my anger or my hatred but rather God's. It is God`s wrath and anger that people hate to hear about. I am not one-sided. Many here speak only of God's Love without His Wrath. They are the ones who fail to teach the whole counsel of God not me. God is Love and indeed Jesus showed forth the greatest love the world has ever seen... but those who preach that God can only love have not read all of their Bible and have ignored very many plain teaching that God has put forth in His Word. RE>> These come from the word of God and, if you call them false, you are calling God and Jesus, false.<< I will not call the teaching of Christ false ever. Satan however quoted the Bible to Jesus Himself did Jesus say those words were false or did Jesus quote other verses that proved Satan was misusing them? Simply because you quoted these verses without explaining how you view them leaves me with nothing to say to you other than I believe the Bible is the VERY Word of GOD..including the TEN COMMANDMENTS and what Jesus said about them. The only part of the Bible that God used His own hand to write was the Ten Commandments: Deuteronomy 9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. It is the Word that I quoted to prove what I said to Dan but he would not. He is the one who is trying to turn it into a VOTE ! Are you voting? Better to study the word as presented. I repeat Truth is not by popular vote or consensus! P.S. Please take more care when quoting the word. RE>> Matthew 11:32<< There is no Matthew 11:32 RE>> Mark 16:16 << Did you ever notice that the last half that you did not quote does not mention baptism at all but only disbelief. RE>>But to all who believed in Him and accepted Him, >> The Bible does not teach " accepted Him" it teaches receive. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Recieve is not active but passive. The very next verse plainly state that they are not born by the will of man ..Accepting is an act of the will that is not what the previous verse teaches or John 1:13 is wrong. Your own testimony was that you were saved by God and not yourself. Your bible is a very poor translation. You should change. RE>>He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.>> Also a very poor rendition of what is taught in 1Tim 2:6 What version are you using it is awful really. You can download a Bible for your computer if you do a search for ONLINE BIBLE there are two versions in English ( terrible language ) that I would recommend.. The first is the King James 1776 edition. Next I would suggest the American Standard 1901 edition but not the later ones. Both of those are available in a downloadable file.
