Mark, re:<<Here is a fact I do know. I ordered a computer from Dell on 12/16. They told me I should get it by 12/23. Well much to my surprise the system was in post-production on 12/17, it shipped on 12/18 and arrived on my doorstep on 12/20. It was a PIII-600. Unbelievable service.>> Essentially the same thing happened to me when I order two computers last June. What concerns me about this quick turn-around is the lack of testing that the computers receive prior to shipping. Both computers that I received had problems. One had a defective monitor, and the second had an intermittent electrical arch in the tower. Dell sent me a replacement monitor, and never fixed the intermittent problem. Having worked in the industry, I would like to see more testing on the systems and tighter QC inspections/tests. JMO

PS: During the course of trying to fix the problems that I described, I called Dell's tech support. What a mixed bag this turned out to be. Some of the techs were very good, some didn't know what the h*ll they were talking about. IMO, Dell is suffering some growing pains.
