ADR Report-Techs charge ahead with Kyocera leading

NEW YORK, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Kyocera Corp. (NYSE:KYC - news) American Depositary Receipts, or ADRs, soared Thursday,
extending recent gains after its purchase of Qualcomm Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:QCOM - news) handset unit.

Its ADRs were last up 22-5/8 at 189, leading Asian ADRs. The Bank of New York index of leading ADRs (^BKADR - news) gained
1.4 percent at 159.88, with the index of leading Asian ADRs (^BKASIA - news) up 0.84 percent to 164.31 and the index of
leading European ADRs (^BKEUR - news) up 1.7 percent to 163.56.

Technology issues spread good holiday cheer through the markets globally as they built on recent highs and charged ahead in
the last day of trading for the week before Christmas.

U.S. stock exchanges are closed for the holiday Friday.
