>the bulls say 'this is only the beginning'. how about that?

I read a great sci-fi novel about mars a few years ago. "Moving Mars" or something, cant remember the exact title. One of the interesting scenarios was the concept of economic inflation. 200 years in the future, inflation has become an entirely different concept. Fiat/paper money rose at a rate of around 100% per day, to the point where if you didn't cash your paycheck instantly after receiving it you would be thrown into poverty. People took any extra money they could afford and bought physical trinkets, because they were the only things that retained actual value. Gold and all other forms of hard assets were illegal, so the only thing people could do would buy little items they could stash in their apartments. Mainly collectables and such.

I am now convinced that something akin to that is going to happen. It doesnt matter if the fed raises rates to 20% tomorrow, the market wont care. The nasdaq is now increasing 30% a MONTH.

I promise you, my friends, this mania will result in the end of capitalism as we know it in this country. Just follow the current activity to its logical conclusion. We have become a nation of gamblers, where everyone hits 777 on the slot machine, every day of the week. No inflation my ass.

We're going to have a socialist party in power within 2 years. The economic violence is going to be unprecedented. 1929 and the following great depression will be considered a cakewalk compared to what is coming.

Heinz, I think this last buying binge is window dressing, and that profit taking is being put off until next year.
