Hi Joan,

It remains to be seen how much of this liquidity proves temporary. Some clearly is (e.g., term repos and the liquidity options). But to the extent that some remains in the system (i.e., as permanent reserves), the Fed will need to be that much more vigilant in terms of enacting tighter policy. I think Q1 will be a tough time for financial markets, with a 7% long bond a distinct possibility.
