It is a possiblilty. Also a good scenario for "rotation" from the hot stocks to a broader set of tech stocks, then back to the hot ones again. We saw this happen in 1999 at least once, didn't we?

re the january correction:

i'm a hardnosed contrarian (who's digested more than his share of rational-expectations price theory) -- the more articles i read (and conversations at starbucks i overhear) about the coming january correction, the more i expect an upward boom. the dow's been treading water for a long time, you know. i figure once it starts rising again, it'll take the tech stocks with it.

the funny thing about this contrarian business is it gets to be recursive... you can have a contrarian view toward contrarians... and so on and so on... like alice in wonderland. :-) or, as the saying goes, "i was a contrarian until i found out everyone else is one too."
