Bit of a ramble...still groggy after my
last graveyard, enjoy:

Wouldn't it be great for the biotech sciences
if even a small fraction of the internet frenzy
spilled over here. Imagine if molecular
biologists and chemists actually could
making the sort of living that computer
science people can make these days.
Sounds crazy, we have become so used
to programmers having the hot jobs,
would be cool if the rest of the really
smart kids could be compensated that way too
after university.

Of course money isn't that important
when you live at least as high as the
average middle american lifestyle, the
rest is gravy. I don't need a boat and
a Lexus--not much additional happiness
will be got if I trade my '72 Nova in for
an Explorer for instance. My 1600 square
foot house is a hell of an upgrade from
the average middle class house thirty
years ago.

I'm a public servant, good living but
never will be rich, and that is fair--but
I digress, this isn't about me, I just
trade stocks as a hobby, I'm not the
one creating anything like these biotech
brainiacs. Imagine if these brilliant
people could work as hard as they do, generate
this amazing science, and then actually get
properly rewarded for it!

I'm not saying that if all the internet hype
spilled into biotech stocks that they'd cure
cancer--but maybe a few more types of cancer.
You get the idea...it's a good thing.

Actually, what has happened so far, with some
MSFT wealth going to good causes--that innoculation
program, that is a very good first step. Imagine
a thousand Soros' out there too.

I'm very optimistic for our civilization in the
next thousand years. There is even a chance the
microbes wont outsmart/outmutate us. The meek may
inherit the earth, but it will be a good fight.
