I believe Henry stated that he is "embarrassed" by this fact and has resources deployed to get the site operational as soon as possible.

Gemstar International Group, Ltd. (GMST) 76 +10 3/8: The British are coming! The British are coming! Well, not exactly, but Gemstar (of the British Virgin Islands) is coming to the Nasdaq 100 at the start of trading January 3. Its inclusion comes in the wake of Qwest's (QWST) departure to the NYSE, and is the catalyst behind the stock's surge this morning. Of course, shares of GMST have been doing just fine this year without the distinction of being a Nasdaq 100 component as they are up 431% YTD on a split-adjusted basis. In fact, the company has effected two 2-for-1 stock splits this year alone. Strikingly, it's company profile doesn't make any mention of B2B, Linux, or .com. Its primary business is developing, marketing and licensing proprietary technologies and systems under the VCR Plus+ name that are designed to simplify and enhance consumers' interaction with electronics products and other platforms that deliver video, programming information and other data (i.e. TV). Its main source of revenues to date has been license fees paid by consumer electronics manufacturers and publications for the licensing of the VCR Plus+ technology and the right to print the PlusCode Numbers, respectively, and to a lesser extent, licensing of the company's Gemstar Guide Technology. This is a very well-managed company as evidenced by a 46.3% ROE (ttm), and its consistent earnings track record. That is a big reason why Gemstar has plenty of bullish backing on Wall Street as each of the seven anlaysts covering the stock have it rated "strong buy." Thus today's news that Gemstar will be added to the Nasdaq 100 is just icing on the cake in what has been a very tasty year for its shareholders. -- PJO
