California Beach Community's Law Enforcement Agency to Deploy Wireless Wide Area Network Using WWWN's Equipment

ORANGE, CA, Jan 3, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Orange County, CA ISP sets up wireless WAN as mobile data
transport method for Patrol Cruiser Vehicles at the Newport Beach
Police Department

Global Pacific Wireless Internet, (a division of Worldwide Wireless
Networks Inc.) (OTCBB: WWWN) has been selected by The Newport Beach
Police Department to provide mobile wireless broadband connectivity to
its police cruisers. WWWN's integrated wireless Internet network will
deliver aerial high-speed Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity to
NBPD's existing fleet of squad cars. These vehicles have been hardwired
and configured with laptops to provide connectivity to the officer(s)
on duty while patrolling the community. These laptops are connected
wirelessly to the police department's Wide Area Networks at the
station. NBPD chose WWWN's wireless network and its system to serve as
its primary and only mobile WAN connection with options to provide
Internet backbone connectivity at a later date. The system essentially
enables any authorized officer employed by the NBPD to access all data
that is normally available at the police station or its substations
while in the vehicle on patrol.

WWWN's wireless Wide Area Network and this type of system can be
rapidly deployed for wireless remote access applications. The WAN's
performance and reliability will enable the NBPD to access various
state and federal records in virtually seconds, cutting down on
valuable response time.

According to a previous report, it has been determined that networked
police cruisers with WAN capabilities identified and arrested nearly
twice as many fugitives as fellow Law Enforcement Agencies operating
without the system.

"By deploying this state of the art mobile wireless Wide Area Network,
we hope that it will keep the city of Newport Beach on the cutting edge
of technology, making the officers' jobs easier and more productive
while making an already very safe city with an excellent police
department even more pleasant to visit or live in. We have received an
overwhelming response from Southern California Law Enforcement Agencies
on this new service, and according to law enforcement feedback, this
will significantly reduce out of field administrative time and give the
officers immediate access to all available data bases and records,"
said Jack Tortorice CEO of Worldwide Wireless Networks.

Worldwide Wireless Networks delivers next-generation high-speed
Internet connectivity and collocation services to enterprise business
customers and multi-tenant facilities. In addition, WWWN also provides
remote wireless data networks for temporary deployment at trade shows,
car shows, and all other forms of expos. WWWN plans on implementing
more wireless WAN's and wireless Internet access to other law
enforcement and government agencies in the greater Los Angeles and
Orange County areas. The wireless Wide Area Network complements
regional high-speed wireless networks, which WWWN currently owns and
operates.
