Janice, madam, during the last few weeks, Trans Cosmos has had volumes averaging 500,000 daily (source: Etrade Japan's member's website). As I write this, the present volume at noon in Japan is 204,000. Where do you see a lack of trading? Maybe you looked at the TSE volume for the 23rd? 'T was a public holiday (emperor's birthday) in Japan... Generally speaking, I should think that institutions especially don't want too many open positions over the new year and thus might retreat a bit for the next ten days.
