Anyone besides me find the 6:00 am reports from the "Instinet trading floor" unintentionally hilarious? Besides the fact that any Wall Street professional breaks up in laughter at the term "Instinet trading floor," anyone with experience in the business knows that NOTHING significant EVER happens on Instinet before 7:00 am...EVER. As a result, the CNBC reporter is usually reduced to earnings announcements or a recap of what stocks were active the day before, then promising viewers she will diligently "keep watching for any movement." When she DOES find some movement, she sometimes reports where stocks that are trading down are BID, or where stocks that are trading up are OFFERED. Clueless.

It's a complete waste, as is the end-of-day segment from the floor of the NYSE. Why does CNBC move their broadcast to the floor of the NYSE each day, when anyone with a modicum of knowledge about the market knows that 5 years from now the NYSE floor will be a museum? You couldn't CREATE a broadcasting situation that would contradict industry trends more than reporting from the NYSE each day. Does CNBC realize how archaic and ironic this segment is??
