Well, I've hesitated to comment on all of the vitriol (as it was so aptly characterized by someone earlier in this thread) that's been put forth by a couple of folks, but I can NOT resist commenting on this one. I don't blame you for being incredulous but, yes, there was indeed a root beer flavored tootsie-pop. As my taste buds recall, it was not a great idea. Hope this info doesn't put a crimp in your holidays. :)
