I loved that last line about throwing their money into the fireplace. I do worry about one issue that you raised. If you buy a put say in amzn, and amzn crashes along with the rest of the market. and oops your broker who was long goes out of business. how do you collect on your put? who pays you? Does the exchange have to be open for you to collect? what happens if they close the markets for the week your put comes due?
