As I said before, whatever else he was, Luther was also a bigot and that's a plain, simple fact! I make that judgment on the basis of his own words. Because one approves of one or some things Luther stood for (the Reformation), does not mean one should also accept every other thing he stood for (his bigotries). You should discern the good from the bad. To strain to accept his worst failings as blessed is a result of unwarranted hero-worship. The purpose of the Reformation was not to establish a new infallible Pope in the form of Luther, was it? There is a lot of strife on this thread. That portion of the strife which involves Jews, Judaism and Christianity, anti-Jewish bigotry, however you want to characterize it, IMO owes its origins to that skilled propagandist, Emile. Many of his posts involve pasted-in scripture passages or devotional material and are posted by him, I believe, to win him acceptance as a devoted Christian. Once he has won such acceptance, he shifts his attention to his real interest - "antichrist talmudic satanic modern judaism", bizarre assertions about the Khazars, Jewish control of the media, anti-Zionism, assertions that the Mossad killed JFK and JFK Jr., etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum. And when his obvious bigotry is criticized, he pretends he is being attacked for his devotion to Christ. It's a shame that some people buy this ploy. I don't believe bigotry should have a legitimate place in Christianity even if the father* of the Protestant Reformation was a bigot. *(There were actually several such fathers.)

No James, Bruce is not coming down on the side of Christ haters. He is coming down on the side of God and Jesus Christ. If you can not see this, you have not read your bible enough to understand it's meaning. Luther was a tool of God much the same as He used Pharaoh as a tool. If you would talk about Christianity as it is written in the bible, none would refute you with words. All you have talked about lately is a clear indication of your anti-Semitism. I, personally, would welcome your long vacation. Please take your time.
