I agree that my mention of the possible scenario involving holders of highly appreciated stocks being reluctant to sell in December and take the tax hit in 1999 applies primarily to American investors. It does seem to me that the American market seems to be leading Softbank higher with the Japanese market appearing to follow in some cases.

Besides Softbank, I also have some Microsoft that is near it's all time high. Perhaps selling some January calls on MSFT is the way to play this idea. In truth, I am reluctant to part with any softbank below 100,000 Yen and perhaps even out to Jay's 800,000 Yen <G>.
