monu, as usual, you write wise words that it is clear you have given great consideration. I, basically, agree with what you say. Abortion is a practice which I truly abhor, and can only pray that the proper laws can be passed to protect these innocent lives but, to kill those in favor of such a detestable thing, will not stop it from continuing, and is not the kind of thing a Christian, following the words of Jesus, should be involved in. Protests, yes, killing, no. Practicing homosexual sex is a grave sin in God's eyes, and mine, but killing a homosexual will not stop the practice of the sin. Many of them do not realize that they are flirting with death by their own actions. I am sad to say, that I can see no reasonable solution to this baseness in the society of today. This situation, along with many others, can only be solved by the judgment of God. haqi

Good Post... I do however disagree that those who practice Homosexuality only affect themselves. In fact that was their lie from the beginning... " Two consenting adults who are not hurting anyone else " Many innocent citizens have suffered because of them. I heard some figures a few years back.. Out of 240,000 cases of aids who died in the US that year 217,000 were homosexuals. I forget but about 1/2 of the rest were sexually promiscuous the other half had done nothing morally wrong to contract the disease. The Abortion situation escalates as it has become a form of "Birth Control". I at one time had no real problem with certain kinds of Birth Control as in the Pill etc. God convicted me that Children were the heritage of the Lord and the Fruit of the Womb was His reward. I do not think we can expect to see much "Respect for Life" as long as Christians stop their own offspring from living. It is a kind of Philosophical Abortion as well. I now have 7 children myself and can truly see how they are a sore spot for satan :-} I have another friend who used birth control for a while and now that he wants children he does not seem to be getting any which is a drag. The first time I ever heard someone equate Birth Control with Abortion I thought they had lost it.. however I now must agree it is not a far cry and is of the same spirit.. not wanting God's greatest gift apart from Salvation... Children. However to the wicked children are a curse. Also adopting children can have some very unexpected results. There can be spiritual inheritance that you did not expect. My sister adopted one male who is now a teen. He is pretty wild. I do not blame him or his spiritual heritage completely as my sister made quite a few parenting mistakes. There is however sometimes children that are a curse and you cannot fix it. I know another couple who took in a young fellow as a foster child and he was a little demon and they could not do a thing with him. He had gone through dozens of homes. They raised some of the best behaved children I have ever seen so I do not blame them for the failure concerning this foster child he was just plain evil. God passes on sins for generations sometimes: Deuteronomy 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, I saw a special on Tv about a fellow who was adopted just a couple months ago. It may have been 20/20. In any case what happened was this fellow was just plain bad bad bad. They interviewed the Parents and the "natural" siblings and they all told the same story that no matter what they did he was just evil right from the word go. They had adopted him as an infant. The fellow ended up in jail for multiple murder serving life. ( Pretty strange when the world figures out what God has said ) This fellow decided to request that the government locate his "Natural Father"... Turns out his father is serving a life sentence for Murder. I think that abortion is only a step towards the situation we saw in Germany during the early 40's. First you have birth control of any sort, then you have birth "control" that any reasonable soul can see is murder. Then you legalize suicide an obvious breach of the 6th Commandment. Then you also help those along with " Mercy Murders" and judgements about "quality of life" Eventually we arrive at selective reproduction where the State decides who can or can not reproduce according to the quality of offspring they will likely produce and forced sterilization of less desirable persons or races. On and on until you got what they had in Germany. German people were not especially sinful or blind. America is no longer Christian. Most "churches" are nominally Christian. Concerning your stance on taking up arms to fight back or defend yourself. I will not judge you. There are some who would say that it is wicked for you not to defend your wife and children against the assault of wicked men but we know and trust a God who deals in another realm. Our home is not here and our life is more than flesh and blood. To Him shall every man stand or fall. I will not judge what God has called you to I judge men for sin not for or in their service to Christ. Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. If the Bible said Thou shalt take up arms when attacked then things would be simple. I think the war against Germany was a righteous war and the duty of Christians to wage. Some of these other wars have been Criminal in my opinion. Why are we not fighting Sudan and the tyranny there? I used to petition against abortion but it did nothing. I did some volunteer work at a "pregancy counselling" ministry and that was really worthwhile..did not do enough of that. They would encourage women to have their babies.. help adopt them out if that was their choice but really pitched in if they decided to keep their child. Did you ever hear about this young girl who was pregnant and everyone was disgusted because she was not married. Not only that she was engaged to a fellow who knew he was not the father because he had never even had sex with her so he was calling the wedding off. Abortion would likely end the problem if she had one before she started to show. Things might be better that way. She however brought the baby to term and had him in spite of what people said or thought and called him Jesus. BTW.. Joseph married her after all.
