I agree that your strategy is sound. But I think it takes more of a trading mentality than I have. I like to just buy and hold.

I never sell PUTs for anything unless I'd willingly buy that number of shares at that strike price. The PUTs sort of let me realize an immediate capital gain each month with only one transaction. Either that or I get to own more shares in a company which I already believe has outstanding prospects.

I do confess if I got an early assignment on every short PUT on the same day, it would cause me to sit up and notice that trading action would be required imminently. But short of a catastrophic early assignment, I tend to deal in relatively trivial amounts for any given month.

TYC was my last coup a la NVLS patent nonsense. ...and if I would have been paying more attention this past week, I could have done it twice.
