...about 10 F. here tonight, but it's going to be a green Christmas... we sure don't see too many of those... Christmas Eve Story Just remembering a Christmas past from about 26 years ago. My Mom was working the cash at a sporting goods store on Christmas Eve. A very raggedly dressed young man rode up to the store on a beat-up bicycle... which was kind of crazy considering how deep the snow was and how much slush filled the roads. He came into the store and picked out a pair of felt-lined skidoo boots,...very warm, but certainly not fashionable. When my Mom went to ring up the sale, the man didn't have enough money to pay for the boots once the tax was added on... Mom told him to put his money away and she'd buy the boots for him... The kid also asked if he could use the phone to call home to his parents. Everyone in the store teased my mom for weeks after and called her "Mrs. Claus" but she didn't mind. We were just talking about this a couple of days ago and my Mom said she wondered what ever happened to that fellow. Merry Christmas everyone!
