Irrelevant. If the poster is a stockholder in MVIS then he/she owns part of the company and by extension rights to this technology. My understanding is that MVIS has exclusive rights for commercialization of all VRD research.

This announcement seems to have gone almost unnoticed, but I gather there are 2m people in the US alone who suffer from optical defects (not all addressable by VRD admittedly) causing partial blindness. My guess is that none of them would be particularly bothered about the clunky aesthetics of a device that enabled them to see more clearly.

No, not part of an engineering but as a stockholder, I do own part of the the company... a rather small piece ;-)
