Should TCP Port 139 be closed in Win98?
If so, please tell us how to close it.


I use Windows 95 on my old machine at home (OK so I'm a starving student). For Windows 95 and 98, all that should be necessary is to turn off file and print sharing. I think that is done in the "network" section of the Control Panel. Windows 95 and 98 don't have the same setup as NT (which instead uses "Services").
