Costco has delivered enormous value to consumers and shareholders alike by concentrating on delivering the best bang for the buck on narrower - but high quality - selections.

They are simply transferring this same business model to the internet, where I expect them to kick ass. I welcome the worry and skepticism from analysts - which is sure to provide me with plenty of great buying opportunities from time to time.

Costco is going much, much higher and should be an important component of anyone's long-term portfolio.

Dear Dale: I own COST and also am a COSTCO member and have been for many years. From my way of looking at it COST is a big success already in the warehousing of general merchandise and growing pretty well. Now they are in the embronic stage of internet selling. Admittedly their web site and internet sales are nothing to brag about, but, based upon their business model to date, I suspect that they ultimately will be just as successful in selling via the Web as they are in selling via the warehouse. Seems to me, one should wish to buy BEFORE they are a huge Internet success not after!! JDN
