Mike:

"Obviously, it is dangerous not to do this. What made me take a bite was that I saw a couple of negative technical signs that bothered me. Plus, I saw a lot of anti-gravity blindness on the thread."

It does not bother me that you are shorting CMGI, nor do short-term technical indicators or market corrections cause me any concern. Over the long-term CMGI will continue to make me wealthy, and bouncing in and out would only delay the inevitable.

Best of luck and have a very happy holiday.

Jim

Mike...You're a brave man for shorting CMGI, and perhaps it will pay off. HOWEVER, I would say it might be in your best interests to have an "exit strategy/target cover price" in mind and to know just how much you need for those toys. You may well see a dip in price monday morning, based on last week's action closing out the holiday, but it might just be MM's jukin' the price to get some cheaper shares for the upcoming split, and then feeding the longs again. If you see a profit in the first half hour or so, you might want to think about taking it and covering. Don't get greedy at this time of year with all these "other issues" aligned. Nobody knows how the market will play out this week, but my guess is it may not be according to traditional logic. Keep in mid too that CMGI has this habit of releasing news into momentum, and you do NOT want to be short if they say Mary Meeker initiates coverage (which MUST come sometime if MSDW underwrites ALTA), or something like that. I too hope you make some money here, because I am a big fan of volatility and those who take advantage of it. Just watch your back, buddy. Cheers!

Todd

Mike Harvey: Uhhh... well, you go ahead and invest in spell checkers... I'll stick w/ writing whatever I feel, without worrying about some tight-a$$ concerned w/ my spelling. Happy Holidays, and thanks for your suggestion... hope you took to my advice and covered that short position. Trust me, you are making a HUGE mistake trying to short CMGI. I'm not saying that to be an a$$. I was saying it to protect those balls of yours, but I guess you simply don't believe anything I'm saying, so that's just fine. I still feel sorry for you though... boy are you going to be hurting. No hype... just the facts. Queen Mary is coming very soon, and I have a feeling that isn't the only thing... as if it weren't enough, along w/ a split.
Peace,
- Zen

Well Mike, it looks like your brief short of CMGI worked....congratulations....you displayed some nice nimbleness by getting short, covering, shorting again and covering again when the second one didn't work out....Good job!

Let me know the next time you see an opportunity to short, I may raise capital while your play unfolds so I can buy more CMGI.

Happy Holidays!
