The identity of the hijackers who seized control of an Indian Airlines flight to Delhi is still a mystery.

Security is also the responsibility of the Indian Airlines officials at the airport. But in the totally corrupt Indian set-up, they would have to pay so much bribes to ministers and other officials to get a job in Indian Airlines. So they might think it is justified to accept bribes for themselves and just wink and look the other way once in a while...

No wonder the 2000 Index of Economic Freedom rankings name India as one of the most corrupt places in the world.
