"Michael Armstrong (ATT) to hold private negotiations with Steve Case over the Christmas holidays in Aspen Colorado."

I was just wondering when another AOL rumor would resurface. I didn't expect it to happen until "after" the holidays. Gosh, don't these writers take a break?

I doubt there's much validity to this story. The last thing I would expect is for Armstrong and Case to be vacationing in the same state, let alone the same ski resort. But let's say for discussion purposes, it's true. Where is Jermoluk in all of this? Waxing their skis?

Remember what the MSN discussion (or letter of intent) did to ATHM share price? A sweet 10% drop. What do you suppose a headline announcing, "AOL Strikes Cable Broadband Deal with AT&T" would do to ATHM stock? I don't even want to think about it. As I mentioned on another thread, ATHM MUST be a player. NOT a discarded girlfriend. The headline must be ATHM friendly, such as "AOL, Excite@Home, and AT&T Band Together in a High Speed Deal."

ATHM should quietly go about its business and add subscribers. There is always time to deal with AOL. Like when we have 10 million subscribers!
