les on the other side of the coin, won't the manufacturers who are extremely well prepared have a windfall , and wouldn't that likely be the big hitters ?

i was wondering too, if , say, oil drilling equipment doesn't, you know, WORK, after y2k, would those manufacturers have a tremendous surge in orders. in other words, maybe some manufacturers ARE the place to be for the new year ?

ps disclaimer, i like the oil services area and have a position in precision drilling...

Les:

Notice the number of companies that have stockpiled. It's much the same on this side of the pond. Getting those massive inventories back down to where they belong is going to be the REAL kick to the economy's groin during this next 6 months IMO.

Mike and gang. Very best of the holidays to all. It's a blast participating on this excellent thread.

Best, Earlie
