Sr K . . . I agree with your comments. I'm thinking that with regards to IPOs I will use the opening "ask" on the second day of trading. Do you think that is fair?

You're right, a "short" contest wouldn't be any more work. However, this is a year-long contest. I know many "longs" will hold their stocks for one year (or longer), but how many will short a stock for an entire year? Plus, as a general rule, I think most investors are long investors.
