Dear Cobe,

There are some wonderful posts here in the last few days from so many people, that it's almost magical! I feel as if someone handed me a new book by my favorite writers- you know that tingle of anticipation when you skim it quickly and see that it's still all there? -- posts that give me goosebumps--- make me want to talk, and share, and write, something I haven't felt in a while. But I wanted to tell you that when you, Coby, are writing on certain particular topics- like your third grade memories- that was just a wonderful post!-- and this one about the MIdnight Mass... well, you are GREAT.

Your new parish sounds as if it may be a keeper. That was really very beautiful, what they did. I didn't even realize they still had incense and sung Mass. I mourned the passing of the old traditional LAtin Mass and all the rituals. Stacy, CW's girlfriend is a Catholic and I was asking her about her Confirmation..

Did you take a name?
What?
A saint's name-- for Confirmation? Didn't you have to pick a Saint?
Uh---no.
Well, did the Bishop ask you any questions? Were you nervous?
No....
Did he slap you? Did you kiss his ring?
Uhh-- no...
I could tell she thought I was brought up in some weird cult that had nothing to do with Catholicism..
Do you remember these things? I feel as if I dreamed them now.
