Bruce,

Thanks again for the article. I went back and read the link you had posted. I am going to try and look around on the net and see if I can capture that picture of the monument in Virginia where the meeting took place.

There is another thing that sort of struck me about that article. Several of the men involved in all this. Did you see their lifespans? Roger Williams 80, Isaac Backus 82, John Leland 87. Seems for the times these men of God lived a long time here on this ol earth..hmmmmm.

The second thing that sticks in the back of my mind. These men were arrested for preaching the gospel with out a license among other things. Do we indeed take our religious freedom for granted? Do we think we gained those all on our own? Do we think we are above the coming persecution by these """fastest growing religions in the world""" bunches?

They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

God bless

dan
