Good morning Christine, I imagine a "sage brush tramp was the the 1870's equivalent of our "homeless' thrashing through the sage from mining camp to camp instead of pounding the pavement. Just guessing though, I have been neither. Re: We Scandias were probably a mix of SOP Religions, Pagans, and Aethiests in our beliefs, with various emphasis on each, as the time and place required.. Like for weddings and funerals were standard, Xmas nonreligious pagan. And we were known to use the Lord's name in vain and would question the heritage of a "hunter?" that would come on our place and begin shooting in the middle of our cattle during Yahoo, not Yule season.
