Christine: I was in the midst of putting some specifics on this subject. Then the aol update that I had running (to restore the sound for aol elements) blasted through and updated me completely, while removing my unfinished post to you.

Last year, there were the same Steaks. Last year, I did this note:

1. ?Burger? - Let it thaw, then did a lusty, delicate, tartar with it.

2. Filet - Defrosted slowly, low-heated to very rare, cut into peanut-to-popcorn bites, ate, slowly and lovingly.

3. ?Burger? - Slow broiled, toasted roll, placed on roll, ate with sensitivity.

4. Pork - Room-temperatured it, put horseradish on roll, broiled them, broiled pork, made luscious port patty sangy. (1-4-99)

5. ?Burger? - Grill (electric) thawed. Eaten as patty, no bread or roll, with the garlic, pepper, and salt seasoning. Yum. Yum. (1-8-99)

6. ?Burger? - Defrosted and partially cooked in electric grill. On a half-bun. Wow. (1-11-99)

7. ?Filet? - Slow defrosted, then quick heated in oven. Ate with salt, pepper, garlic, in about twenty tiny bites. Yummy. (1-24-99)

8. Pork - Steamed some baby lima beans - with salt, pepper, and butter. Ovened a pork piece, high. Cut the pork into Corn Chex rectangular bits. Mixed all together, with garlic. Zaaambooo!!! (1-26-99)

9. Pork - Let small piece thaw with garlic and pepper on it. Heated rolls. Put ?braised? pork on rolls, with loads of lettuce and deli mustard. Ate. Wow! (2-2-99)

10. ?Burger? - Defrosted in toaster. Added garlic mist, pepper, and salt. Ate it as if it were a piece of delicate pastry.
(2-19-99)

11. Filet Fling! - Did the last two, the second half, of the filets one after the other in the toaster over - slowly, cooly (about 150 degrees). Dusted with garlic mist and pepper. Cut, after done to a ?warm red,? into bite-sized rectangles, and individually appreciated - between snacks of ranch dressing coated lettuce. Can only believe this overindulgence (TWO FILETS!) was due to tension building from not having been called for seven days. (2-22-99)

12. ?http://www.puzz.com/allfreebies.htmlBurger?-Pork Finale - In turn, slow baked the last burger and the last pork in toaster oven - each coated with heavy pepper and garlic.. Alternatively ?baked? sesame rolls decked with deli mustard and cheese - so they would be ?done? when the meat was coolly finished. Sinfully indulged in sequential devourment, ending the Omaha Steaks Sessions with a delightful full belly and singing taste buds. (2-23-99)

This year, in response to my Kindness note, I got a message telling me that last year's response (above) was pretty neat. And that this year's 'gift' was probably a mistake.

I am a fan of friendship much more that food. Feel the latter is meaningless without the former.

As I said, we are forced into situations where we know not of what we speak. Do not feel you were drawn into a trap. It simply is an item, such as my ear operation's after-effects, that I should not have posted.

With much respect for you,

george
