I am afraid your stock investment post was so radical I am unable to absorb it right now, Nihil. I have a headache from rummaging for 50% off Winnie the Pooh Holiday Carousels that play 25 all-year tunes, and 25 holiday numbers as well, at Toys R Us. My daughter and I also picked up purple blown glass ornaments and a sweet furry snowman with a hat and a red and green plaid scarf.

Are the festivities almost over? I think I have Christmas fatigue. We bought our cats a circular floor toy with a mouse that goes quickly around a circle, powered by batteries, of course. Our huge boy cat, Butterscotch, seemed really fascinated by it, and watched and watched, and then he threw up all over it, probably because the mouse was spinning so fast it made him dizzy. Our girl cat, Lizzie, who is much smarter, was utterly uninterested in this toy.

We have been living on fruitcake, candy canes, echanacea and quick shopper's food, so I think I am a bit dizzy as well, from malnutrition, no doubt. The echanecea has not been very helpful at warding off viral diseases, as I think I am coming down with one.

I do agree with your sentiments about the Cato Institute, but am surprised that they are out front about their objectives. I thought they were more clever than that.
