Thanks for your suggestions Lee.... I'm not new to Metastock or Telescan... the troubles started about a week ago when I tried to add a new security. I was getting only that day's data with no history even though I had a start date of 10 years previous. Typically I add one security at a time and type in the name and the symbol in the two boxes; never using the lookup approach. It was at that time that I decided to do my daily update via the internet. I contacted Equis and purchased the update CD from 6.0 to 6.52 in order to be able to do that. Now I can't get ANY data for a new security. A little while ago I downloaded the patches/updates from the Equis home page and I'm getting the same result. I just tried you're lookup suggestion and for the check marks in the folder selection step, etc....same result... no new ones were downloaded. To insure that Telescan was "working" today, I deleted 6 months of data on 4 of the stocks in the sample folder and they were promptly filled in. My discussion with the Equis folks tomorrow will be very interesting to say the least. And I'll be sure to report what they tell me to you folks. Indeed, I might have gotten a bad update CD from them. Thanks again for bearing with me on this puzzler.
