Hi Charred, "Tambo Grande can be moved, but it will be expensive. They have to move 15,000 people and 13 primary schools, 2 colleges, Banks, telefonica de Peru, who I might add have invested themselves into the town. In addition, several generations of agricultural families and workers live and work there. Not sure mining will work there. If you have any questions, call the town yourself. I did, this is how I do my DD. " Apparently you called the wrong town. How many towns of 15,000 can support 13 primary schools and two colleges? There is maybe 1 building that can be described as a school. There are no colleges in Tambo Grande, but there are two in Piura. Manhattan is working with one of them, and they are quite excited to be involved. The electricity and telephone points also seem to apply to Piura. The residents of Tambo are lucky to get 3 hours of electricity per day. I'm not sure about how many phones there are, but certainly not many. Not a big deal these days, even if wiring a new phone system was a hassle you can just drop in a cell base station and give them all cell phones. The Hospital in tambo is probably best described as a clinic. The power company will probably welcome a mine - that's a pretty good customer. Manhattan has no plans to replace them. You are correct that the residents do have surface rights, and could block getting moved. The government could move them - but they are not going to go that route. There were two rallies last month, one for and one against. The one for was well attended and supported, the one against was not. Opposition mainly comes from a group of farmers that now numbers 2 (from about 10), because Manhattan pays workers better. There are no hotels in Tambogrande, and when the majors go down in a few weeks their people will stay in Piura and bus to Tambogrande. The town is an issue, but right now a minor one. The focus as far as the stock goes is drill results. I will worship to the temple of the great duck tonight for some drill results we can discuss, so that the thread can get back on track. The stock has held up well despite a rather large fund unloading its shares. That was gobbled up in 10K chunks without a problem. Regards, -jeff
