Thanks YYB, PAL, and all for your good wishes. We'd like this thread to be a meeting place, so feel free to invite anyone whose options trading you admire, or who is interested in learning.

I'll throw out an issue. Yesterday, jmac, on the QCOM thread, took a poll asking the thread what they're planning to do with their QCOM in January. While almost everyone answered that they would hold, many people said that they were planning on an options-based hedging strategy to guard against a possible market correction this spring. I'd like to start a discussion on the relative merits of writing covered calls vs. buying puts.

Yes, let's make this coming year even more rewarding financially than 99, which in itself was wonderful.

I'm hoping to learn a lot on this thread. Poet has already taught me a lot about call buying.
