Lizzie ..Live dangerous and give the wino' or junkie' a few bucks..then say but for the "grace of God there go". It makes you feel better and it is for damn sure that you cannot change their fate..
I have given as much to these people as any charity and I have
heard more wonderful stories about shattered dreams and lives
than you can ever imagine, and don't think it cannot happen to you..It Can.. A major Depression can place all of us on the street :-(

Lizzie, you might also be endangering your safety when you give food to the homeless. Did you read this sad story about a young man who was kind to the homeless, and was murdered by a homeless man in Portsmouth Square? It is a really sad story; what a waste!
