OK
We are not a CMGI.
We are not going to $394 anytime this year.

We are similar to a CMGI at is birthing moment.
We will most likely appreciate somewhat in share price this year.

Surely 99.9 % of the posters, lurkers, newbies and investors would have concluded this themselves given intelligence that fits somewhere on the bell curve.

You are exactly right. It is to nobody's benefit to raise hopes and expectations to an unreasonable level. It leads to impatience and disappointment.
To clarify...
I agree that JDX will probably do very well provided that the bull market in internet stocks continues. I do not however think that it is "absurd" to believe that a sharp correction in the tech sector is probable in the coming weeks. The market has been fueled by liquidity provided by the Fed and this will have to be retracted at some point. I also find it alarming that Y2K has been discounted as a non-event before the date even arrives. If the market tanks, JDX will be hit pretty hard.
There has been a question over the past few years as to whether "this time was different". The consensus was always spilt until the past couple of months. It seems that everybody is beginning to believe that it actually is different this time. This is usually the sign of a market top. Who knows if it will continue higher for 1 month or six months? The end of this great market is near and the question is whether JDX will make it before the bell.
Jefferey Applegate was on NBR and stated that 1/2 of their portfolio was in tech. I find this incredible. I think that the industry is being extremely irresonsible recommending this kind of asset allocation. To recommend CSCO or AOL at these prices is not that different than recommending Bre-X a few years ago. In both cases, the analysts should have known that they were recommending something with little value.
