Today -- this hour--is the first real day of Christmas peace for me, and I bet many others. We're back in our house after the traditional two-day trek to the grandparents, which followed the traditional Christmas morning gift opening and traditional breakfast of sausage and egg casserole and sweet rolls, which followed the traditional Christmas Eve gift opening of the traditional gifts of a creche for AMmo and a Russian nesting doll for CW, which came after the traditional Christmas Eve service,which followed.... well now there are no more traditions on the few remaining days of the 1999 calendar. I love traditions and rituals, but right now, I want nothing so much as to pour a glass of wine, and reflect on having NOTHING required of me this particular hour on this particular evening. Indeed it feels so wonderful, I think I need to turn it into a tradition.
